MORAGA TOWN COUNCIL - 2026
Moraga is a great community with excellent schools. My wife Peggy and I are 38-year residents and we raised our two daughters here.
I have passion for Moraga. I first experienced the value of the small-town environment at age 13 when my family moved from Los Angeles to a small town in Connecticut. I greatly benefitted from the change, especially in educational opportunities (and expectations). Peggy also grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania. Fast forward to 1987 and with the impending birth of our first child, it was a natural to seek out and settle in Moraga. We have never looked back.
We have been active in the community, both through participation and volunteering in a broad range of school, scouts, sports, Kiwanis Club and other town activities. Peggy continues to tutor homeless children. She is also the Secretary of the Moraga Park Foundation.
I have actively supported Moraga by volunteering long-term on the Design Review Board, Hacienda Foundation Board of Directors, Planning Commission and Town Council. I led each of these organizations and have worked with the other members to support Moraga.
The primary role of the Town Council is to make high-quality decisions representing all citizens of our special town. I apply a disciplined approach to making decisions which includes making a concerted effort to research, actively listen, and not act until after I have heard all public and fellow Council member input. Moraga’s General Plan is my overarching guide, supported by Moraga’s Municipal Code and Design Guidelines.
As presented under the Qualifications Tab, I bring to the Town Council professional expertise and experiences in several key areas which I apply to the benefit of Moraga.
I value serving with all Town Council members. We have brought diverse views and experiences, it hasn’t been perfect, but I’m proud of our accomplishments. And I commend the many local volunteers and Town Staff who are critical to Moraga’s success.
I believe I’m qualified and ready for Moraga’s Town Council. I’m qualified based both on professional training and experience, and long-term involvement in town organizations.
Why am I running? I want to continue, and am well qualified, to make a positive difference in our community.
